Gender-based violence awareness campaign for Cambodian women

Educational & multimedia content

The challenge

The project required overcoming cultural, linguistic, and technical barriers (local typography, voice-over). The target audience (women victims of violence) required highly visual, non-textual communication due to literacy limitations in marginalized and rural areas.

Our solution

From cultural research to the delivery of the series of 3 animated videos, 3 flyers, and 6 posters, the design focused on functional literacy, featuring a primarily audiovisual narrative that prioritized image clarity over text in the Khmer language.

The impact

The promotional pieces were a key part of the launch for a public communication and safety campaign by UNODC and the Cambodian National Police, validating the effectiveness of strategic design in communicating sensitive topics without relying on reading.
